processor_stackMpxTool can be used to compare two or more audio processors in a carefully controlled shootout.

MpxTool lets you record the output of each processor separately (with common program material) and play them back in MpxTool, switching on the fly, with a whole suite of modulation monitoring equipment built in. You can also output composite, to feed an exciter and listen on an actual tuner.

The best way to do this, is to make a torture-test sequence of difficult program material, run it through each processor separately -- without changing presets or modifying any settings. A fair shoot-out must be hands off.

Modulation Arts has prepared a Torture Test suite of extremely difficult cuts. Track listing, the original audio, and recordings of Orban Optimodtm 8200, Orban Optimodtm 8500 and Omniatm 6EXi can be found here.

We also accept submissions of this torture test from your air-chain or processor. Since MPX files get very large, we provide an FTP site for uploading.
