Hi Leif,

I have uploaded the CRL Amigo FM torture test clip, as "CRL_Amigo_FM_default_75us.flac". As the file name suggests, it was recorded with 75 uS, at the factory default settings, namely:

* Low Freq Enhance at center detent (+3 dB @ 80 Hz)
* Limiter Drive at center detent (+2.5 dB)
* Clip/Limit Priority set to Clip
* AGC Range set to 12 dB
* Stereo Enhance Sensitivity and Stereo Enhance Level both set to Low (effectively no stereo enhancement taking place)

The recording is set to use a reference level of -3.0 dB in MPXTool, the same as with your DSP-X and Breakaway clips. Needless to say, the Amigo can't match the loudness of these other processors, but CRL's strength has always been in their extremely smooth and transparent dual-band AGC, and I'm sure it'll be nice to have at least one example of your "torture test" played through more relaxed processing.

It's also interesting to compare it to just how much dynamic equalization the other processors are doing, while the Amigo remains more faithful to the original recordings. It has always been up to personal preference whether or not this "glamourizing" effect is a good thing for broadcast processing. In particular, it can have a major effect on the timbre of solo acoustic instruments, such as a piano or guitar.

In any event, I hope you enjoy the Amigo FM recording and find it useful. I have attached a publicity photo of its front panel if you'd like to add it to the main "Torture Tests" page. Also note that mine was one of the last new Amigo FMs ever built. I ordered it from Orban/CRL in December 2007 and took delivery of it in January 2008.
